Permanently deleted

Redacted content is stripped from the file entirely — not just covered with a black box. No one can reveal it by selecting text, copying, or using PDF inspection tools.

Bulk text search

Search for any word, phrase, email address, phone number, or credit card pattern and mark every match across the entire document instantly. No need to hunt page by page.

Secure and private

Your files are processed on secure servers and deleted automatically. We never store or share your documents.

Redact PDF — FAQ

Is the redacted content truly gone?

Yes. The tool removes text characters and image pixels from the file — it does not simply draw a black rectangle on top. The underlying data is gone and cannot be recovered with any PDF viewer or editor.

Can I search for specific content to redact?

Yes. Type any word or phrase into the search bar and click "Mark all matches" to place redaction boxes over every occurrence in the document. The tool also has preset patterns for emails, phone numbers, and credit card numbers.

Can I choose a redaction color other than black?

Yes. Use the color picker in the toolbar to set any fill color for new redaction boxes. White is useful when you need the redacted areas to blend into the page background.

Will redacting affect the rest of the document?

No. Only the content inside your drawn boxes is removed. All text, images, and formatting outside the marked areas remain unchanged.

Can I undo a redaction before downloading?

Yes. Redaction marks can be moved, resized, or removed at any time before you click Apply Changes. Use the undo button in the toolbar to step back through recent actions. Once you download the file, the redactions are permanent.
